Electric Fuel Announces Revolutionary Instant Power™ Batteries For Camcorders

Electric Fuel Corporation announced today that it is introducing a revolutionary line of long lasting, ready-to-use batteries for popular models of camcorders under its INSTANT POWER™ brand name. The new batteries, which complement the Company's INSTANT POWER family of batteries, provide a solution to the frustrating problem among users of these products of a too-short battery life.

The INSTANT POWER camcorder battery addresses a major frustration among camcorder users — discovering that your batteries need to be recharged just as you're ready to start filming, or having your batteries run out of power just as you're about to record that special moment. The new batteries will instantly revive low power camcorders and thereby ensure that users will not miss key video moments when their on-board batteries die. Instead of waiting for rechargeable batteries to complete a charging cycle, users will be able to plug in an INSTANT POWER battery and keep on shooting — without missing a moment — for up to ten hours using the same power source.

The new batteries expand the Company's INSTANT POWER family of batteries and chargers for cellphones and PDAs. The new camcorder batteries utilize the same zinc-air fuel cell technology as the rest of the INSTANT POWER line of products and deliver fully charged batteries right out of the package. Each 3300 mAh INSTANT POWER battery offers three to five times the capacity of standard rechargeable camcorder battery, allowing up to 10 hours of recording time The batteries are connected through the camcorder's DC jack, and come with a built-in belt clip for easy carrying. Once depleted, they can be safely disposed of like any ordinary alkaline battery. The first models, which will be available in retail stores this month, support camcorders produced by Sony and JVC. Later models will support other manufacturers' products.
