Generation E-760 and Solitaire 710-II stand-alone electronic locks
Kaba Ilco Inc., formerly Ilco Unican, announced at the International Hotel Motel and Restaurant Show at booth #3175, that both the Generation E-760 and Solitaire 710-II stand-alone electronic locks can now support up to a 10 year battery life, based on an average of 10 cycles per day using lithium batteries.
Kaba Ilco generally recommends that hotels change their electronic lock batteries when they see the low battery light signal. When standard alkaline batteries are used, this time frame is approximately 2 to 3 years. However, if the hotel decides to use lithium batteries, this time frame improves to 7 to 10 years, which will reduce the frustration of replacing dead batteries every few years. Offsetting the higher cost of lithium batteries is the reduced cost of labor and the extended life span of these superior batteries.
