American Power Conversion to Integrate CiscoWorks2000
American Power Conversion today announced plans to integrate its unique PowerChuteŽ Inventory Manager software with Cisco Systems' recently introduced CiscoWorks2000 Service Management Solution. By utilizing Cisco's XML-based development kit, APC's one-of-a-kind UPS management solution will provide valuable information on network service level and power availability for business-critical networking gear being monitored by CiscoWorks2000 Service Management Solution.
"We are developing extensions to our newly released PowerChute Inventory Manager software to provide Cisco and APC customers with the tools necessary to proactively maintain the desired level of power and service level availability across their networks," said Rob Johnson, general manager, APC's Availability Enhancements Group. "By taking advantage of Cisco's third-party service management application integration, APC and Cisco offer comprehensive solutions to help customers achieve contracted service levels on their network."
"We are delighted that APC has chosen to extend its market-leading software line to make use of capabilities provided by our CiscoWorks2000 Service Management Solution," said Brian Promes, Cisco's enterprise partnerships manager. "Power availability is a fundamental requirement of business-critical networks. Using information provided by CiscoWorks2000 Service Management Solution, APC's PowerChute Inventory Manager will help service providers and network managers proactively manage APC UPSs powering these business-critical networks to ensure availability and level of service."
