Panasonic launches new industrial alkaline and specialty products

Panasonic Industrial Company has formed a special group to focus on the vast U.S. industrial battery distribution market.

According to the group's new strategic marketing manager, Russell Bleeker, an important first step to be taken by Panasonic's new Industrial Alkaline and Specialty Products Group will be the introduction of a complete line of industrial alkaline batteries. The new alkaline line of products will be manufactured in the U.S. at Panasonic's fully automated Columbus, Georgia facility and will be sold direct and through all the major distribution channels to industrial, commercial and government customers.

"The North American industrial network represents a multi-billion dollar business annually, and as the world's largest battery manufacturer, we intend to earn an important share of it," Bleeker said.

Panasonic will promote the strengths of a complete product line to accommodate the industrial channels offering them the unique opportunity to go to one major manufacturer and fill their product requirements.
