Yuasa Battery commences lead acid battery production
Yuasa Battery (Shunde) Co. Ltd has commenced mass production of lead-acid batteries for automobile applications. The new facility will consolidate the company's lead-acid battery line.
With the registered capital of $10 million, the Shunde facility covers an area of 110,000 square-meters and employs 100 workers. Yuasa Battery expects capacity to reach one million units this year, and increase to two million units, as well as 2.5 million units in 2004 and 2005, respectively.
The company has purchased production and test equipment from Japan and U.S. to make valve control lead-acid storage batteries with the annual capacity of 420000KVAh and production value of Rmb350 million ($42 million).
