East Penn Manufacturing introduces new design for industrial Deka Powr Mate™ Batteries

East Penn recently redesigned the Deka Powr Mate™ battery, which uses four heavy-duty deep cycle gel golf car type batteries in series to provide a 24-volt unit. This unit is also equipped with an on-board, capacity-matched charger. This new design features improved secure-fit hold-downs, a protective hinged cover (standard with all Powr Mate batteries), and an integrated connector and charger with an LED display. East Penn’s unique design also allows battery replacement without removing the unit from the equipment. These Power Mate batteries are now available in two popular sizes to fit virtually any pallet jack application where dependable light to medium use is required.

The Deka Powr Mate's use of heavy-duty deep cycle golf car gel batteries enables superior performance and extended life compared to similar power packs using smaller sealed valve-regulated lead-acid battery types. The company claims a two to three time life advantage with their new design.

The Powr Mate can be plugged into any 15-amp 120-volt AC outlet to eliminate the need for a remote, centralized charging area and features an auto stop/start charger. Engineered for safety, these gelled electrolyte batteries are spillproof, leakproof and significantly reduce gassing and corrosion. They provide maximum power, longer life and ease of operation with no watering.
