FCI upgrades Batool™ Line with 14.4 Volt Ni-MH battery
FCI, a leading connector manufacturer and provider of OEM solutions to the industrial, energy, application tooling and automotive industries, presents a new BATOOL™ 14.4 V line for the utility and telecommunications markets. Designed to eliminate battery memory problems, this upgraded BATOOL includes a "No-Memory" Nickel Metal-Hydride (Ni-MH) battery, which offers greater charge capacity, higher voltage and simpler recyclability.
FCI's BATOOL-14 VDC line includes the new Ni-MH batteries, eradicating the voltage depression problems associated with the Ni-Cad batteries previously used. Unlike the Ni-Cad batteries, the Ni-MH batteries can be charged anytime without memory issues, without waiting for sufficient charge-depletion. The new BATOOL line has a redesigned circuit board, a modified wire harness, and a new battery clip design. FCI has also added a ram wiper seal and an internal filter screen to better deal with dirt contamination.
FCI offers four high voltage models: BAT35-14V, BAT750-14V, BAT644M-14V, and BATCUT-14V, all of which charge quickly and are operable with only one hand. The new BATOOL line has a higher amp hour rating, yielding longer run times and more current under a heavy load. The higher voltage models have a greater total of work hours, a greater charge capacity, and a longer cell life. They also include a low internal resistance that reduces heat during discharge and aids in power delivery.
