Ultralife Batteries, Inc. introduces ultra-thin and ultra-light polymer rechargeable replacement batteries

Ultralife Batteries, Inc. today introduced two new models of Polymer rechargeable replacement batteries for use with the world's largest-selling line of cellular phones – the Nokia 5100, 6100 and 7100 series. Ultralife has already received sizeable orders for its new Polymer phone batteries from numerous distributors for sale to cellular accessories retailers nationwide. Ultralife also plans to sell batteries directly to a number of national retailers. Shipments will begin in July.

Ultralife's ultra-slim, ultra-light battery, model UB750N, weighs a little more than an ounce (28 grams) and has a rated digital talk time of up to 3 hours, 20 minutes and a standby time of up to 6.5 days, depending on the specific phone model. The ultra-light, high-capacity battery, model UB2300N, weighing less than three ounces (85 grams) has a rated digital talk time of up to 10 hours and a standby time of up to 22 days. Both batteries, to be marketed under the Ultralife Polymer™ brand, are packaged for retail sale in unique gold-color packaging specially designed to enhance their appeal to the consumer when displayed on retailers' shelves, an industry first.

John Kavazanjian, Ultralife President and Chief Executive Officer said, "Ultralife introduced the world's first polymer batteries a number of years ago and has now achieved a new first by simultaneously launching two new polymer cellular phone replacement batteries at the same time for sale to the general retail market." Julius Cirin, Ultralife Director of Marketing added, "More than 100 million Nokia phones have been sold worldwide in the last few years, representing a substantial battery replacement market from consumers who would benefit from Ultralife's thin, light weight and long-life polymer battery offerings."
