Trojan Battery Company celebrates safety milestone

Trojan Battery’s Georgia facility hit a milestone by achieving 365 days without a lost time injury. In celebration of this event, the Atlanta Chapter of the National Safety Council will present its prestigious Safety Recognition Award to Safety and Environmental Manager, Mike Sears. Executive Vice President of Manufacturing Operations, Art Salyer, will also be present.

Salyer has made safety a top priority at all Trojan facilities, and Georgia employees will join in his commitment by signing a “Commitment Banner,” dedicating themselves to achieving the goal of 730 days without a lost time injury. The banner will be displayed at the plant as a reminder, along with the Safety Recognition Award.

In addition, employees will be treated to a steak dinner with all the trimmings, as well as each receiving a personalized thank-you letter from Sears and General Manager of Georgia Operations, Phil Baker. Trojan Battery Company has been in operation since 1925 and is the world’s #1 manufacturer of deep cycle batteries. Corporate headquarters is located in Southern California; the Georgia facility was opened in 1988.
