Continuous voltage regulation without using batteries
Powerware Corporation, a global leader in power quality and management solutions, today announced the addition of USB for its line of uninterruptible power systems designed for the office environment. All models in the Powerware 3110 and 5115 families now come with both USB and serial communications ports, providing easy connection with legacy and new computer products.
The Powerware 3110 – available in 300, 550 and 700VA ratings – is designed to provide clean and reliable power to sensitive PC-based applications thereby increasing stability and lowering downtime. The Powerware 3110 allows one to continue updating accounts, finalise presentations or surf the Internet while others are rebooting their computers due to disturbances in utility power.
The Powerware 3110 is an extremely universal product that can easily be adjusted to fit any small office or home environment. There is no doubt that this is one of the most reliable, cost effective solutions on the market in this power range, stated Jorma Mannerkoski, director of product marketing Powerware, EMEA.
The Powerware 5115 is available in four power ratings and offers typical five-minute backup time at full load. The unit is compact and features Powerware’s Advanced Battery
Management technology which increases the UPS battery life up to 50% and gives warning of the end of battery life.
Other features include sine wave output on battery, fast recharging of batteries, user replaceable batteries, and a buck-and-boost circuit that corrects a wide range of input voltage variations through continuous voltage regulation without using batteries. It also ensures consistent input voltage to the loads protected.
The Powerware 5115 provides superior power protection and many features found in larger UPSs at an affordable price, said Jorma Mannerkoski. It offers high levels of reliability together with exceptional ease of use and connectivity.
The Powerware 3110 and 5115 are equipped with all of the tools necessary for a plug-and-play installation including a USB cable and Powerware LanSafe power management software that safeguards data while performing graceful shutdown during a prolonged power outage.
